Thompson Valley Services has been providing expert asbestos transportation since 2021, serving General Contractors, Restoration Businesses, Homeowners, and Municipalities across the region.
Since January 2024, WorkSafe BC has implemented mandatory training and certification requirements for all commercial entities involved in work with or around asbestos. These certifications apply to both employees of Asbestos Abatement Companies and drivers working for Asbestos Transportation Businesses, with certification levels varying based on the scope of the work. As a provider of Asbestos Transportation services, Thompson Valley Services ensures that all its drivers are certified with Asbestos Level 1: Foundational Awareness Training. It is essential to verify that all contractors and transportation companies handling asbestos are properly licensed and compliant with these new regulations to ensure safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
In accordance with Canadian regulations, anyone transporting Classified Dangerous Goods by road must hold a valid TDG Ground Training Certificate. Asbestos (UN2590, Class 9) is classified as a Dangerous Good, and therefore, all Thompson Valley Services drivers are fully certified in TDG to ensure compliance and maintain safety during transport.
